Bagneres-de-Luchon, also referred to as Luchon, is a spa town and a commune in the Haute-Garonne departement, in southwestern France. Jules Cheret (May 31, 1836 - September 23, 1932) was a French painter and lithographer who became a master of poster art. He is often called the father of the modern poster. Chéret created vivid poster ads for the cabarets, music halls, and theaters.
