Aristide Bruant (May 6, 1851 ? February 10, 1925) was a French cabaret singer, comedian, and nightclub owner who is best recognized as the man in the red scarf and black cape on the famous posters by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (November 24, 1864 - September 9, 1901) was a French painter, printmaker, draftsman, and illustrator, who was immersed in the decadent and theatrical life of Paris.
