Details: This poster is of Cornfield in the Moonlight, also called A Cornfield by Moonlight with the Evening Star, by Samuel Palmer. It shows a man walking through a field with a large stick. He is guided by the light of the crescent moon and one bright star.

Samuel Palmer (27 January 1805 ¿ 24 May 1881) was an English landscape painter, etcher and printmaker. He was also a prolific writer. Palmer was a key figure in English Romanticism and produced visionary pastoral paintings. He met William Blake in 1824. Blake's influence can be seen in the works he produced over the next ten years or so, which are generally reckoned to be his greatest. After returning to London in 1835, Palmer produced less mystical and more conventional work. From the early 1860s he gained some measure of critical success for his later landscapes. His best late works include a series of large watercolours and his etchings, a medium in which he worked from 1850 onwards.

This poster is usually printed with a thin white edge border.
