Details: This huge poster is of the vintage ad created by Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen, of Tournee du Chat Noir. It shows a black cat sitting looking out with its yellow eyes. It says Prochainement la tres illustre Compagnie du Chat Noir, avec ses Pieces d'Ombres Celebres, ses Poetes ses Compositeurs, avec Rodolphe Salis.

Theophile Alexandre Steinlen, frequently referred to as just Steinlen (November 10, 1859 - December 13, 1923), was a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker. Le Chat Noir was a famous 19th century cabaret in the notoriously bohemian Montmartre district of Paris. Perhaps best known now by the iconic Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen poster art, in its heyday it was a bustling nightclub - part artist salon, part rowdy music hall.
