This poster was conceived and created by Claude Taittinger, President Directeur General of Champagne Taittinger. The image of Grace Kelly (before she married the Prince) was used by Taittingers for many years emphasizes the style and preciosity. Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 - September 14, 1982) was an American film and stage actress and fashion icon who later became Princess Grace of Monaco. Kelly became a famous actress in the 1950s, starring in such memorable films as Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, High Society, and The Country Girl, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She retired from acting at age 26. She became the Princess of Monaco upon marrying Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, in 1956.
