Alice in Chains is an American grunge band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1987. Layne Staley (August 22, 1967 - April 5, 2002) was the lead singer and co-lyricist of Alice in Chains. His heroin addiction led to the downfall of his career, and eventually took his life. Their albums include Facelift, Sap, Dirt, Jar of Flies, Alice in Chains, Unplugged, Live.
