Details: This poster shows a black and white photo of Miles Davis by Ted Williams. He is playing his trumpet and holding a cigarette. At the bottom it says 'The Ted William's Collection, Miles Davis at the Civic Opera House, Chicago 1956.'
Miles Davis (May 26, 1926 - September 28, 1991) was one of the most distinguished jazz musicians. A trumpeter, bandleader and composer, Davis was at the forefront of almost every major development in jazz from World War II to the 1990s. As an increasingly well-paid and fashionably-dressed jazz musician, he was a symbol of jazz music's commercial potential. Davis was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006.
