Details: This poster shows John Lennon standing in front of the Statue of Liberty as he makes a peace sign. At the top it says 'John Lennon' and in the middle it says 'If everyone practised being themselves instead of pretending to be what they aren't, there would be peace. -John Lennon.'
John Lennon was an English songwriter, singer and instrumentalist who gained worldwide fame as one of the founders of The Beatles. In his solo career, Lennon wrote and recorded songs such as Imagine and Give Peace a Chance which became anthems of their age. He channeled his fame and penchant for controversy into his work as a peace activist, artist, and author. Lennon was murdered in New York City on 8 December 1980.
