Details: This poster is of a vintage ad created by Leonetto Cappiello. It shows a character holding a small racket leaning back. Above him is a parrot carrying off a bottle of brandy. At the bottom it says: Sauvion's Brandy.
Brandy is a spirit produced by distilling wine, the wine having first been produced by fermenting grapes. Brandy generally contains 35%–60% alcohol by volume and is typically taken as an after-dinner drink. Leonetto Cappiello (1875 - 1942) was an Italian poster art designer who lived in Paris. Some of his famous posters include Parapluie-Revel, Pates Baroni, and Bitter Campari. He redesigned the turn of the century pictures into images more relevant to the faster pace of the 20th century.
