Details: For more than sixty-five years, Living Language has been the foremost name in the field of foreign language self-study. The Living Language: Spanish 2014 Day-to-Day Calendar includes basic words or phrases, accompanied by English translations. A phonetic pronunciation guide is provided for key words, and an audio CD of basic phrases is also included. Cultural theme pages addressing culinary specialties are provided throughout the calendar. Food in Spanish-speaking countries is as varied as the regions themselves. Seafood is a main staple in Spain, and paella--a dish made of seafood and rice--is served in restaurants and homes. Mexican cuisine, popular around the world, usually includes corn, rice, and beans, as well as a variety of spicy meats. The cultural pages take you on a journey through the culinary specialties of Mayan, Aztec, and South American cuisine.
