Details: This poster shows a hot air balloon inside an expansive hall. The hall is empty except for the hot air balloon. Although the balloon has already crashed through the floor below, it is unable to make any further upward progress.
The hot air balloon is the oldest successful human-carrying flight technology, dating back to its invention by the Montgolfier brothers in Annonay, France in 1783. A hot air balloon consists of a bag that is capable of containing hot air. Suspended beneath is the gondola or wicker basket which carries a source of heat, giving enough lift to keep the balloon and its passengers aloft.
