Details: This poster is of a vintage ad created by Leonetto Cappiello. It shows a man resting on the steam coming from a coffee cup. At the top it says Eviter les Contrefacons (avoid forgeries). At the bottom it says Cafe Martin, Eugene Martin, 33 Rue Joubert, Paris.
Cafe Martin was a cafe in Paris, owned by Eugene Martin. Leonetto Cappiello (1875 - 1942) was an Italian poster art designer who lived in Paris. Some of his famous posters include Parapluie-Revel, Pates Baroni, and Bitter Campari. He redesigned the turn of the century pictures into images more relevant to the faster pace of the 20th century.
