Che Guevara (June 14, 1928 - October 9, 1967) was an Argentine-born Marxist revolutionary, medic, political figure, and leader of Cuban and international guerrillas. Guevara joined Fidel Castro's revolutionary organization, which seized power in Cuba in 1959. Guevara was captured and executed by the Bolivian Army on October 9, 1967. After his death, Guevara became an icon of socialist revolutionary movements worldwide.
