Details: This poster is of the vintage ad created by Georges Massiot. It shows the silhouette of a man in a hat and cape, holding a glass. At the bottom it says Porto & Sherry, Sandeman.
The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a determined young Scotsman who set up as a wine merchant, specializing in Porto and Sherry. George Massiot-Brown creates a mysterious silhouette representing Sandeman?s wines, Porto and Sherry - dressed in a Portuguese student's cape and wide-brimmed Spanish hat - that became the first wine trade logo and is today a symbol of prestigious heritage and quality.
