The Godfather is a 1972 crime film directed and co-written by Francis Ford Coppola based on the the novel of the same name by the screenplay's co-writer Mario Puzo. The film starred Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and James Caan. The film was followed with The Godfather Part II in 1974, The Godfather Part III in 1990, and a 2006 video game based on the film. It is about the leader of a New York mafia organization.
