Details: This poster is of Gustav Klimt's The Kiss, and depicts a couple shrouded in gold and symbols sharing a kiss. The man is standing, bending over to kiss the woman who is kneeling on a patch of flowers and seems to be accepting the kiss, rather than actively participating. The portion of gold covering the man is covered with mostly rectangular, black and white shapes, while the woman's portion seems to be dotted with flowers. Measures 16 x 20 .
Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 - February 6, 1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau (Vienna Secession) movement. Klimt's primary subject was the female body and his works are marked by a frank eroticism. His works include The Kiss, Adele Bloch-Bauer, Judith and the Head of Holofernes, Avenue in Schlob Kammer Park, Danae, The Friends, The Virgins, Mada Primavesi, Mulher sentada.
