Details: This poster shows the A6M Zero flying in the air. It is painted black with a red circle on the wings and body. Mountains in the mist are visible in the distance.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a light-weight, carrier-based fighter aircraft employed by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service from 1940 to 1945. At the time it was introduced, the A6M was the best carrier-based fighter plane in the world and was greatly feared by Allied pilots. By 1944, it was obsolescent but remained in production. During the final years of the War in the Pacific, the Zero was utilized in kamikaze operations.
