Details: This poster is a black and white photograph of John Lennon, looking directly at the camera and wearing sunglasses. He is wearing a cut off tee shirt with the words "New York City" printed on it.
John Lennon (1940-1980) was an English muscician who became internationally and hugely famous as a founding member of The Beatles. Lennon founded The Beatles with Paul McCartney in 1957, calling the band The Quarrymen. After The Beatles disbanded in 1970, Lennon went on to record several successful solo albums including the iconic Imagine. He was murdered in New York on December 8, 1980 by a deranged fan named Mark David Chapman, who had been stalking him for two months. Lennon was responsible for 27 Billboard number one hits.
