Details: This poster says at the top 'Learn the Alphabet'. It shows pictures for each letter of the alphabet.
An alphabet is a standardized set of letters, each of which roughly represents a phoneme, a spoken language, either as it exists now or as it was in the past. There are other systems, such as logographies, in which each character represents a word, morpheme, or semantic unit, and syllabaries, in which each character represents a syllable. The Latin alphabet, also called the Roman alphabet, is the most widely used alphabetic writing system in the world today. It evolved from the western variety of the Greek alphabet called the Cumaean alphabet, and was initially developed by the ancient Romans to write the Latin language. Letter shapes have changed over the centuries, including the creation of entirely new lower case forms.
