Details: This poster is of a vintage ad created by Leonetto Cappiello. It shows a woman drinking out of a large glass. At the bottom it says '..du soleil dans un verre..' (sun in a glass) and below that 'Cognac Monnet'.
Cognac, named after the town in France, is a brandy, which is produced in the region surrounding the town. Cognac Monnet is a brand of cognac. Leonetto Cappiello (1875 - 1942) was an Italian poster art designer who lived in Paris. Some of his famous posters include Parapluie-Revel, Pates Baroni, and Bitter Campari. He redesigned the turn of the century pictures into images more relevant to the faster pace of the 20th century.
