Details: This poster is of I and the Village, by Marc Chagall. It features many soft, dreamlike images overlapping each other: in the foreground, a cap-wearing green-faced man stares at a goat or sheep with the image of a smaller goat being milked on its cheek. In the foreground is a glowing tree held in the man's dark hand. The background features a collection of houses next to an Orthodox church, and an upside-down female violinist in front of a black-clothed man holding a scythe. At the bottom it says Marc Chagall, I and the Village .

Marc Chagall (7 July 1887 - 28 March 1985) was a Belarusian-French painter of Jewish origin who was born in Belarus, at that time part of the Russian Empire. He is associated with the modern movements after impressionism. Working in the pre-World War I Paris art world, he was involved with avant-garde currents. His work was consistently on the fringes of popular art movements and emerging trends, including Cubism and Fauvism, among others.
