Details: This poster is of a vintage ad created by Marcello Dudovich. It shows a clown carrying a large bouquet of flowers and a bottle of Florio Marsala wine. Surrounding the clown it says Florio S.O.M.
The Florio winery was founded in Marsala in 1832 by Vincenzo Florio. It has been in continous Marsala wine production since then Marcello Dudovich (21 March 1878 - 31 March 1962) was an Italian advertising illustrator and painter. Dudovich started making advertising sketches in Milan. In Turin, he has further success creating billboard ads and works for several companies (Carpano, Fiat, Pirelli, Romeo Alpha).
