The Guardian Project is a fictional superhero squad created by comic book mogul Stan Lee in conjunction with the NHL for the 2011 NHL All-Star Game. Each NHL Franchise is represented by one of the 30 heros, titled"Guardian". They are typically named in accordance with the name of the team (e.g. The Canuck for the Vancouver Canucks). The National Hockey League (NHL) is a professional sports organization composed of ice hockey teams in North America. The Eastern Conference teams are: New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Thrashers, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Washington Capitals. The Western Conference teams are: Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild, Vancouver Canucks, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Lon Angeles Kings, Phoenix Kings, and San Jose Sharks.
