David Jon Gilmour CBE (born 6 March 1946) is an English musician, best known as the guitarist, lead singer, and one of the main songwriters in the rock band Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd are an English rock band who initially earned recognition for their psychedelic and space rock music, and later, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music. Members included Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, Bob Klose, and David Gilmour. Their albums include Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, Final Cute, Divison Bell.
