Félix Abraham Hernández (born April 8, 1986, in Valencia, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher for the Seattle Mariners. Hernández throws a fastball that has been clocked as high as 100 mph. His repertoire of pitches also includes a hard curve, a changeup, and a slider, all of which he can throw extremely well. After graduating from high school, Hernández agreed to his first professional contract on July 4, 2002. He made his Major League debut on August 4, 2005, in a 3-1 loss in a road game against the Detroit Tigers.
