Details: This poster is of a vintage ad for Absinthe Robette, by Livemont. It shows a woman holding up a glass of absinthe. At the top it says 'Absinthe Robette'.
Absinthe is a distilled, highly alcoholic, anise-flavoured spirit derived from the medicinal plant, grand wormwood. It is known for its popularity in late 19th and early 20th century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers whose romantic associations with the drink linger in popular culture. T. Privat-Livemont (1861¿1936) was an artist born in Schaerbeek, Brussels, Belgium. He is best known for his Art Nouveau posters.
